Consumer Survivor Network & Warmline What is a Warmline? A warmline can be defined as telephone contact line that provides information, support, encouragement and referral to consumers of mental health services. It can also provide general information on mental health community activities and referrals for family members and the public at large. According to Daniel Fisher, M.D., Ph.D., Warmlines are a form of social support and complement to hotlines. Indeed, the Mental Health Consumer / Survivor Network (CSN) can testify to how valuable these services are for people who suffer with a mental illness. Many times people are lonely, depressed, or just want to talk to someone; however, they don't feel they are in a crisis. A Warmline provides a safe, secure, confidential place to turn. The primary purpose of a Warmline is to provide support. This can be done by listening, chatting, empowering someone to make changes, problem solving, informing them about the facts of mental illness, and referring to professional help as needed. The Warmline is NOT a crisis line. It is used to encourage people who suffer from mental illness to find ways towards recovery that work for them. CSN has a number of Warmlines in place statewide. Please Click here for more information about CSN and the Warmline. The Warmline number for this area is at 1-877-210-2932 The hours for this Warmline number are Everyday, Weekends and Holidays included, from 5-9Pm.
