What is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder?
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder , or OCD, is an anxiety disorder marked by an inability to stop worrying, or obsessing . Often, these worries take on an action meant to lessen the worry, also called a compulsion. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is more common than asthma or diabetes. Common OCD actions include frequent hand washing, checking of door handles, locks, appliances, to be sure they are off, hoarding of papers and clutter, counting, repeating of words, and redoing of certain of actions, and constant rearranging of objects or furniture. It affects all ages and genders. Ocd can be genetic, or it can be brought on by illness or stress.
